Serena Baker, MSN, FNP-BC

Serena Baker, MSN, FNP-BC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Traveler’s Medical Service in 2015, bringing more than a decade of experience in international and travel health to the practice.

Serena received her Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University. Her interest in international health began while volunteering in El Salvador, where she worked alongside local and American health care programs providing training and cervical cancer screening. She went on to serve as a nurse at the US Embassy in San Salvador, caring for American diplomatic staff and their families — a role that immersed her daily in the health needs of people living and working abroad.

Before joining Traveler’s Medical Service, Serena worked at Columbia University, where she provided countless travel health assessments for students preparing to study, research, and volunteer around the world. In 2009 she earned the Certificate of Knowledge in Travel Health (CTH®) from the International Society of Travel Medicine, a credential recognizing specialized expertise in the field.

At Traveler’s Medical Service, Serena provides pre-travel consultations, travel and routine vaccinations, and travel health guidance for travelers of all ages. Her combination of clinical experience abroad and years of counseling travelers makes her a trusted resource for patients preparing for every kind of journey.
